Indexes on predefined regions
Predefined regions allow to cover areas with the highest density of operating wind farms across the world. Predefined regions for onshore wind farms (areas delimited by circles and ellipses on the maps) correspond to areas of varying sizes within which the wind regime is consistent over time (i.e. similar wind energy index across the region). Predefined regions for offshore wind farms (dedicated pictogram) correspond to restricted areas located all around European shores, where a significant offshore wind power capacity is operating.

The average year corresponds to a synthetic year representative of the long-term period considered as the reference.
To ensure consistent year-over-year data, the long-term reference period has been set to the decade 2011–2020. Conversion factors to adjust the long-term reference period can be provided to our clients, ensuring alignment with their preferred long-term reference.
Indexes on customized locations
Indexes can be generated on demand for customized locations, if a location of interest is not covered by our predefined regions. Monthly databases on current year (monthly delivery) and past years (one-time delivery) are available for any wind farm location.
Ordering indexes on customized locations in addition to other pre-defined indexes will allow you to get a complete solution, delivered in a single format, for your entire wind farm portfolio.
Our customized indexes take into account the actual location of the wind farm and upon request:
- The specific power curve of your wind farm
- A specific long-term reference period
- The actual amplitude of variation of your wind farm production
